About Minimalist Folk Co.
Hello and welcome to Minimalist Folk Co.
I’m Blanky, the founder and creative heart behind the brand. I’m originally from a small city in Southern Brazil, and I now call Vista, California home with my husband and our daughter, Mia.
Minimalist Folk Co. started when Mia was just a baby. I wanted to make little tees and onesies for her, but at the time, buying everything new felt out of reach. So I decided to learn how to make them myself.
With less than $500, and honestly closer to $300 or $400, I started with what I had. I watched YouTube videos, taught myself how to screen print, bought a used screen printing press from Facebook Marketplace, and found ways to make things work. Instead of buying ready-made screen printing frames, I bought wood and curtain mesh and built my own to save money.
I bought a few blank tees, some ink, opened my Shopify account, set a launch date, and committed to showing up.
What began as a tiny tee shop has grown into a kids’ brand that I am incredibly proud of — one built with creativity, resilience, a lot of learning, and now, the help of an amazing team.
Mia has always been at the heart of the brand. She is now eight years old — sweet, strong, full of personality, endlessly talkative, and always curious. So much of what I create is inspired by seeing the world through her eyes.
What I love most about this journey is knowing that our pieces become part of your family’s everyday memories — school days, birthday parties, beach walks, holidays, cozy mornings, and all the little moments in between.
I am so thankful for this community, for every family who has supported us, and for the team that helps bring Minimalist Folk Co. to life every day. No one builds something meaningful alone, and I feel incredibly grateful that we get to be a small part of your lives.
Thank you for being here.
